Letting Dreams Fly High

Standard

I give an art class once a month to orphans through the American Language Center in Amman, Jordan and the theme for last month was letting your dreams fly high. We created kites out of brown paper bags, with feathers, a few jewels, and ribbons. We also discussed how dreams come true if we believe in them and each child wrote down (or had us help them write down) their dreams on pieces of paper and we attached it to balloons which they took out to the parking lot and let go. The idea was to let your dream sour high and that anything is possible with a little enthusiasm and determination. The kids had a blast and loved the idea of not only creating but getting to let go of their balloons and try to grab at them again!  Heres a few pictures of the day!
